How Many Years in Gustavus: I was born and raised in Gustavus. I left for a while, met my husband, moved back to Gustavus and we have lived here for the last 12 years.
Why Gustavus: I truly love the small town feel and lifestyle of Gustavus, along with the ability to experience the “great outdoors” at the drop of a hat.
Offseason: I love to travel during our off season, but also lead a very full life at home here in Gustavus. I am very active in our K-12 grade school coaching many different sports along with working several different jobs around this small community. The offseason is just my time to boot up for the comings summer and have a little time for myself and family.
Favorite thing to do at lodge: My favorite thing to do at the Annie Mae is meet the many different types of people that come through our doors. We area truly lucky to have a wide array of people from different backgrounds and countries visit us here at the Annie Mae Lodge.
Favorite Meal: There are so many awesome recipes that we serve; it is very hard to pick just one. My favorite meal would have to be either our slow cooked Prime Rib dinner or any of our meals using Halibut. The greatest thing about our meals is you have a choice between locally caught seafood and more traditional American fare every night!
Favorite Activity: My favorite activities to do here would have to be riding my horses or just getting out in my boat to whale watch or to cruise to a nearby beach. P.S. Fishing usually always occurs when I am out in the boat because I love catching fish!
Favorite Fish: Halibut or a super fresh King Salmon. Smoked Sockeye Salmon is hard to beat too.
What one thing should be done while visiting Gustavus: If you have come all this way you truly need to check out Glacier Bay. Lucky for you, if you are fishing you also usually get a great day of whale watching as well. Don’t forget to set back and relax, because Gustavus is as peaceful a place as you will ever visit.

Why Gustavus: At first because of family being there and I did not want to be someone who says "I've always wanted to go to Alaska". Secondly, the people in Gustavus.
