Spirit Walker Expeditions is a locally owned and operated sea kayaking company with more than 20 years of experience. We specialize in fully outfitted and personalized small-group expeditions. Our trips are perfect for novices, families and groups. Our approach emphasizes wilderness stewardship and minimum impact camping - with plenty of time for good food and good friends. We offer trips ranging from a day to week-long wilderness camping adventures. Our long history and experience has enabled us to create the best trips throughout Glacier Bay and Southeast Alaska.

Our experienced and professional guides, high quality equipment, and world-class destinations create the perfect combination for an unforgettable wilderness trip in Alaska's Inside Passage. We offer scheduled trips and can create customized and private trips too.

Spirit Walker Expeditions is a guide-owned and operated company. When the chance to become owners of the company presented itself, its long-time guides jumped at the opportunity. All of Spirit Walker's owners are passionate about the wonders of Southeast Alaska, and the ability to share them with visitors. This distinction sets Spirit Walker apart from many of the guide companies in Alaska and elsewhere. Our guides have a deep and personal connection to the company, the Gustavus community, and the areas we visit in and around Glacier Bay - not to mention a wealth of experience and personal insight into the nature of Southeast Alaska.

Spirit Walker Expeditions Services

Spirit Walker's trips are fully-outfitted and guided. No experience is necessary. Bring your sense of adventure and Spirit Walker takes care of the rest. Included in what we provide are: hearty and tasty meals and snacks (with locally caught and smoked salmon and halibut from Peps Packing); kayaking, camping and safety equipment; charter boat transportation for those trips that require it; professional guides and instruction; ground transportation within Gustavus; rubber boots and raingear, plus dry bags for your gear.

We offer trips that range from one-day trips to seven day expeditions. These include trips to Point Adolphus for world-class whale watching. Our Ford's Terror expedition offers visitors a chance to kayak in one of Alaska's most awe-inspiring glacial fiords. Our Wilderness Isles trip is perfect for beginners who want to spend the day both kayaking and hiking through Alaska's incredible temperate, old-growth rainforest. Our early-summer expedition into Glacier Bay's East Arm is a great chance to see the upper bay as the wildlife and flowers are awakening to summer's lengthening days.
